University Of Pembangunan Jaya Held a Public Lecture About Drugs

The danger of drugs in Indonesia is rapidly increased, especially in the younger generation, even among the college students. This requires a way to prevent the problem  and drugs problem to be done as early as possible, especially for students and university’s environment. It is hoped the students could be the main agents of drugs solutions, rather than being a victim of drug crimes.

To achieve a drug-free campus, there should be an integrated comprehensive approach, involving all citizens of the campus, the students, faculty, staff employees, parents of students, and surrounding communities. BNN (National Narcotics Agency) as an institution appointed by the government to tackle the drug problem, in collaboration with the University of Jaya Development held a seminar entitled "Prevention, Eradication, Abuse and Illicit Drugs (P4GN)" on 17 April 2015.

This seminar presents several speakers, among others: AKBP Heri Istu Hariono, S.Si as the head of BNN South Tangerang and drg. Vinna Taurina from Kasi Prevention. "The younger generation is now expected to develop themselves positively. The positive self-development can make young people avoid the pitfalls of drugs.  In addition assertiveness and care also need to be empowered in order to fight drug trafficking, "said Heri Istu AKBP Hariono, S.Si as the Head of BNN Tangsel. The event, which lasted from 14:00 until 16:00 pm in the auditorium of  UPJ, attended by 30 participants, consisting of faculty, staff, and UPJ students.
