Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) and Swiss German University (SGU) Sign MoU on Cyber Security

Bintaro, South Tangerang 28/01/2025 "Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ) and Swiss German University (SGU) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster strategic cooperation in the realm of cybersecurity. The signing ceremony took place on the SGU campus in South Tangerang.

The event saw the presence of key representatives from UPJ, including UPJ Rector, Ir. Yudi Samyudia, Ph.D., Vice Rector for Operations and Cooperation, Elisabeth Rukmini, Ph.D., Head of Informatics Study Program, Dr. Ida Nurhaida, M.T., Head of Information System Study Program, Chaerul Anwar, S.Kom., M.T.I., and Head of the Bureau of Cooperation, Public Relations, and Internationalization, Deddy Wibowo Adhinugroho, S.E., M.M. Swiss German University was represented by Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Ir. Maulahikmah Galinium, S.Kom., M.Sc., Head of Master of Information Technology Study Program, Dr. Ir. Eka Budiarto, S.T., M.Sc., and Deputy Head of Master of Information Technology Study Program, Dr. Ir. Charles Lim, Bsc., Msc.

During the ceremony, SGU Rector Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo highlighted that this collaboration is part of SGU's continuous efforts to strengthen networks with various stakeholders, including local governments, higher education institutions, and industry. “SGU has established cooperation with the South Tangerang local government and other campuses. Our focus on developing cybersecurity is expected to have a significant impact, particularly by involving BSSN and related industries. With this synergy, academic contributions will be maximized,” he stated.

On the other hand, UPJ Rector, Ir. Yudi Samyudia, Ph.D., expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We are delighted to be able to collaborate with SGU. One of our lecturers, Dr. Ida Nurhaida, M.T., from the Informatics Study Program, is spearheading an Erasmus Plus project related to cybersecurity. We chose SGU as our partner because of its extensive expertise in this field,” she noted.

Dr. Ida Nurhaida, M.T., further emphasized the potential for this partnership to foster innovative ideas and share experiences from various projects. “We hope this collaboration can extend to the inter-study program level, thereby creating new opportunities, including the Genius project and the development of a joint master's program with SGU,” she elaborated.

Elisabeth Rukmini, Ph.D., UPJ's Vice Rector for Operations and Cooperation, also underscored the importance of synergy between academia and industry in addressing increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges. “This collaboration not only enhances academic capacity but also paves the way for groundbreaking innovations,” she remarked.
