Architecture Acupuncture & Urban Interventions Public Lecture

Speaking of urban space, we can’t ignored an information about the conflict between actors and function space in it. One of the problems that exist are increasing the quality of life in densely populated settlements. Monday, February 23, 2015, Architecture program of The University Of Pembangunan Jaya held a public lecture which a place to talked about this issue. Ir. Evawani Ellisa, M.Eng., Ph.D. from the University of Indonesia (UI) was the speaker for this public lecture, with the material entitled "Acupuncture Architecture and Urban Intervention: Understanding Architecture, Respect, and Environmental Context Solid Integrating Population".
 In this lecture, Mrs. Ellisa explain what is the meaning of urban acupuncture. According to her, the concept by Jaime Lerner is the solution to provide rapid and contextual changes in the troubled city hall. This occured for participation not only for  designers, but also stakeholders and citizens. "Urban Acupuncture requires participation (collaboration, iteration) stakeholders," said Mrs. Ellisa. 
After that Mrs. Ellisa  was explained her experiences with her colleagues using the concept of research and dedication to the community in Cikini. Some of them are joint-design studio workshop UI, Chiba University, The University of Tokyo, and Tokyo University of Science; Ayun - ayun Kaliku projects that respond to the issue of littering, and increasing the quaility of clean waters and toilet ,as well as the development of Rumah Pintar ( A place to studies for free). Most of these projects are built with residents Cikini. It can be said that the community plays an important role in these projects. This public lecture event was over with a gratitude ceremony to Mrs. Ellisa Architecture UPJ. Certainly her knowledge that has given the participants a very useful information.
