UPJ Student Wins Best Work and Favorite Award at Keroyok 2.0
Tangerang, August 9, 2024 – Gabrielle Ekapitta, a student from the Architecture Department at Universitas Pembangunan Jaya (UPJ), has won the Best Work and Favorite Work awards at the Keroyok 2.0 event organized by the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) Banten. This prestigious competition was held at the Garuda 7B Room, ICE BSD, Tangerang, and was attended by students from various universities with architecture departments in Banten.
Gabrielle's work, titled "Juanda Intermodal Hub and Transit Hotel," presents a design concept for an intermodal station connecting the city of Surabaya with Juanda Airport. The station is designed to integrate with airport trains, intercity trains, and city buses, and is equipped with transit hotel facilities. The design emphasizes ease of access and seamless connectivity with Juanda Airport Terminal, making it an efficient and modern transportation hub.
The supervising lecturer from the UPJ Architecture Department, Ar. Melania L. Pandiangan, was also present at the event, providing support and guidance to the participants. In addition to UPJ, other participating universities included Institut Teknologi Indonesia (ITI), Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Ahmad Dahlan, Matana University, and Pradita University.
The event, which took place on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, aimed to enhance student achievements and strengthen the existence of departments at their respective universities. Gabrielle impressed the judges with her solid presentation and innovative design concept. The assessment was conducted by Ar. Sandy Sihotang from IAI, who emphasized the importance of design relevance to societal needs and the students' ability to translate concepts into real works.
This achievement further solidifies the reputation of UPJ's Architecture Department as one of the best in Banten, while also providing inspiration for other students to continue creating and innovating in the field of architecture.
