Rector of UPJ Attended Fostering Ideas Event
The Rector of UPJ, Leenawaty Limantara, Ph.D or commonly called ma’am Shinta, who is also the Ambassador Scientist of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany, came to the opening ceremony of "fostering Ideas" Exhibition of Science and Technology of Germany - Indonesia on Monday 5 October 2015 in the National Museum in Central Jakarta. This event was initiated by the German Embassy in Jakarta, the Goethe-Institut Indonesien and EKONID, which showcased the latest innovations in the field of Science, Technology, Health, and Engineering . The German ambassador, Mr Michael Witschel Higher Education and Research came for Indonesia also Technology Minister, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nasir.
During this event, visitors came from all practitions as well as, students, academics, administrators science, scientists, to the general public, they can visit various booths that recounted the successes achieved by the institutions of Germany, there are DAAD, BASF, Mercedes Benz , BMW, Lufthansa, Merck, SAPs, Efforts, German Research Foundation (DFG), Bosch, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), the Helmholtz Association, DB Schenker, Bayer, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Ecology, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Siemens, B. Braun, Max Planck Society, Museum fur Naturkunde and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which was represented by Ms. Shinta as a speaker. These research institutions will also open up opportunities for cooperation with research institutes in Indonesia. Large companies from Germany are already well known in Indonesia also showcase their latest innovations, like Mercedes with their new technology to drive with automatic system, BASF with a solution for farmers, Siemens with new techniques to develop a manufacturing sector, as well as Lufthansa which provides the flying virtual experience for the visitors.
In his speech, M.Nasir as Minister of Research and Technology and Higher Education had expressed "Through this exhibition, Indonesia is expected to learn a lot from German as well as to collaborate in innovation". Although this exhibition was held for the first time, but this event expected to continue and may also be held in other cities in Indonesia.
